Just Trying to Pass Through (Narrative)
Road Closed. While I was still new to driving, I knew that those words were not good news. I was on my way to the zoo drop off my Prox Card (it’s like an electronic key that I use to open the door to where we keep the animals that we bring out for guests to interact with). I sighed and flicked on my turn signal to go left into a side street. “Oh No”. The street was a clogged asphalt artery, with cars parked on either side. There must have been an event going on, and that street seemed to be a prime parking space. Towards the end of the street, one car was parked slightly too far out, turning the street into a one way road. The parking did nothing to help the other cars who were, just like me, trying to pass through. As I pulled up behind the car parked too far out, a bus started to pass through in the opposite direction. Other cars were unable to pull over, and we found ourselves gridlocked.
